For me, there is no greater privilege than to welcome your children to their first school. From their first visit to the Tusiime Nursery and Pre-School we aim to make their experience of school happy and exciting: we encourage them to take daily, small steps to develop their confidence, curiosity and passion for learning.

Tusiime Nursery School

Tusiime have excellent teachers who ensure that they acquire a firm foundation of life-long skills whilst having access to a broad, stimulating and challenging curriculum. This takes account of the children’s interests and the opportunities available to us within and around the wonderful city Dar es Salaam.

We aim to awaken a thirst for learning, helping children to develop an understanding and enjoyment of the world around them. The children are enthusiastic and inspired by the learning opportunities on offer and delight in meeting challenges and taking risks whilst benefiting from a safe and secure environment. They learn through a range of play-based activities as well as more formal methods of learning and have many opportunities to develop their independence.

THE FIRST STAGE OF A TUSIIME EDUCATION

We take children into our outstanding Nursery from the age of 3 years. Sessions may be arranged so that, should parents wish, children stay with us all day and join the rest of us for lunch. All children attend a minimum of five sessions, including two afternoons and depending on availability they may increase their sessions. Some of our Nursery children attend full-time.

We have an approximately of 300 children in the school, who are taught and cared for by a dedicated, well-qualified staff team. Baby Class caters for up to 40 children per session with a ratio of 1:8 (one adult to every 8 children). Middle and Top class have a maximum of 30 children in each class and all are supported by their own highly-qualified, experienced teaching assistant. This low ratio of 1:10 enables all our children to benefit from plenty of individual attention whilst having opportunities to develop ideas as a result of s piraling connections with the others in our vibrant classrooms.

EXCELLENT FACILITIES

Our facilities provide all that is required and more to give our children every opportunity for a fulfilling start to their education. Spacious classrooms have play areas, generous wet areas and expansive outdoor areas in the early years. We ensure that the transition to Key Stage One is a smooth one so that our philosophy of education remains the same as children begin more formal learning but still have space and time to play.

You would expect us to have exceptional IT facilities and we do. In addition to computers and Smart Boards in the Computer Lab which are open to children with appropriate arrangements.

Everyone at school is provided with a freshly cooked lunch dietary requirements are catered for.
